Nigeria and France Partners On Space Tech.
The Federal Government has signed a fresh deal with France on strengthening bilateral tie in area of Science and technology to tackle security challenges in the country.
The deal was reached yesterday, when the France Ambassador to Nigeria, Denys Gauer paid a courtesy call on the minister of Science and Technology, Dr.Ogbonnaya Onu in Abuja.
Dr.Onu disclosed that Science and Technology is a major focus of this administration’s commitment to make positive impact on the people of Nigeria. He expressed his appreciation on the existing relationship between Nigeria and France.
The France Ambassador to Nigeria Denys Gauer, said that the visit is to prepare ground for negotiation and the signing of co-operation in space activities. Mr Gauer noted that French government is committed to developing space activities in developing activities.
The Ambassador also disclosed that the French President is scheduled to visit Nigeria this month for regional summit which is expected to bring out ideas on how to improve security, space and satellite activities to all the stakeholders
The Submit, according to the Ambassador, is expected to provide the framework for activities like training and exchange of ideas. According to the Ambassador the first regional summit was held in Paris two years ago.
He reaffirmed commitment of French government to develop space activities and security in develop countries.
